A Bookplate is used
by an Armiger as a marker on the inside cover of a hardback
book. Its main purpose is to denote the ownership of the
book and to associate it with the owner's own personal
collection. The words, "EX LIBRIS" or translated
from Latin to mean "From the library (of)" usually
accompany a bookplate... (example below):
